Any to PNG processes files locally in your browser.
What Any to PNG conversion does
Convert JPG, JFIF, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, or AVIF images to lossless PNG directly in your browser. You do not need to know which format your file actually is — this tool detects the real format from the file's content, not its name or extension.
This tool does not accept HEIC or TIFF. Use the dedicated HEIC to PNG or TIFF to PNG converters for those formats.
How to convert any image to PNG
- Choose a JPG, JFIF, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, or AVIF file.
- Select Convert & download.
- Save the .png file from your browser downloads.
Flexible vs. dedicated converters
Any to PNG is a flexible converter: it accepts several input formats and detects which one you uploaded from the file's content. Use it when you don't know or don't care what format a file actually is — for example, a batch of images with generic or misleading extensions.
If you always convert the same specific pair, a dedicated converter like JPG to PNG or WebP to PNG is a faster, more explicit choice — it validates only that one exact source format up front instead of trying several.
Transparency, animation, and lossless output
PNG encoding here is lossless, so there is no quality slider. Transparency is kept when the detected source has an alpha channel — this tool does not flatten onto a background. Animated GIF: only the first frame is converted. Animated WebP: the output is always a still image; animation is not preserved and the exact frame selected depends on your browser's decoder.

Any to PNG FAQ
- How does this tool know my file’s real format?
- It reads the first bytes of the file and checks them against the signatures of each supported format (JPG/JFIF, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF). The file name and extension are not trusted on their own — a file named .jpg that actually contains PNG data is detected and converted as PNG.
- Does this accept HEIC or TIFF?
- No. HEIC and TIFF use different decoding steps (including multi-image handling) that do not fit this single-file, single-output tool. Use the dedicated HEIC to PNG or TIFF to PNG converters instead.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs locally in your browser using native browser image decoding. Your file is not uploaded to Looty Tools servers for this workflow.
- Does this preserve transparency?
- Transparency is kept when the detected source has an alpha channel — this tool does not flatten onto a background. PNG encoding here is lossless, so there is no quality slider.
- What happens with animated GIF or WebP files?
- Animated GIF: only the first frame is converted. Animated WebP: the output is always a still image; animation is not preserved and the exact frame selected depends on your browser’s decoder. Neither case produces an animated result.
- Are image dimensions preserved?
- Yes. The output PNG keeps the same pixel dimensions as the detected source image.
