Fill out a PDF form you already have

Open a PDF that has real, clickable form fields — tax and government forms, applications, registration and consent forms — type into the fields shown on each page, and download the completed form.

This tool fills fields that already exist. It does not add new fields, detect blank areas on a flat page, or sign the document. If your PDF has nothing to fill, it says so instead of pretending otherwise.

How to fill a PDF form

1. Choose or drag in a PDF that contains form fields.
2. The tool checks for interactive fields and shows each page with its fields ready to type into.
3. Fill text boxes, tick checkboxes, pick radio buttons and choose dropdown options, using Previous and Next page for multi-page forms.
4. Select Download completed PDF. Your entries are saved into the form and read back to confirm they were stored.

What is (and is not) filled

• Filled: text fields, multi-line text fields, checkboxes, radio-button groups, and dropdown or list boxes.
• Left as they are: signature fields, push buttons and read-only fields.
• Only the fields you change are written, so the rest of the form keeps its original look.
• The saved PDF stays an interactive form — it is not flattened.
• Calculations and scripts built into some forms do not run here, so review calculated totals after downloading.

Your form stays on your device

Reading, filling and saving all happen in your browser. Your PDF and everything you type into it — names, addresses, identification numbers — are not uploaded to Looty Tools, stored, or sent to any other service.

Limits and important notes

• Maximum file size is 25 MB, up to 200 pages.
• Only existing AcroForm fields can be filled. Flat and scanned forms have no fields to fill.
• XFA forms (a legacy dynamic-form format) are not supported.
• Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are not supported.
• Text that a field's font cannot encode, or text longer than a field's maximum length, is rejected rather than saved incorrectly.
• No digital signing or certificate-based signatures.

Fill PDF Forms FAQ

Why does it say my PDF has no form fields?

Fill PDF Forms only works with PDFs that already contain interactive form fields. Many PDFs look like forms — boxes, lines, labels — but are just a flat page with nothing to type into, which is common for scanned forms and forms exported without their fields. This tool does not try to guess where fields should go or turn a flat page into a form; it tells you when there is nothing to fill.

Which kinds of form fields can I fill?

Text fields (including multi-line), checkboxes, radio-button groups, and dropdown or list boxes. Signature fields, push buttons and read-only fields are shown to you but left untouched.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The form is read, filled and saved entirely in your browser. Nothing about the file or what you type is sent to Looty Tools.

Will the downloaded PDF still be a fillable form?

Yes. The completed PDF keeps its interactive fields, so you can open it later and change a value. Looty Tools does not flatten the form. If you need the values locked in place permanently, print the completed PDF to a new PDF from your viewer.

Does filling the form change the rest of the PDF?

Only the fields you changed are written. Untouched fields, the page content, and the page layout are left as they were, and the saved file is read back to confirm your entries were stored before you can download it.

Why does my form say it uses XFA and cannot be filled?

XFA is an older, dynamic form technology used by some government and enterprise forms. It is not the standard AcroForm format, and this tool cannot fill it. Opening the form in the application that produced it, or asking the issuer for a standard fillable version, is the usual workaround.

Can this tool sign the form?

No. It fills fields only. It does not create digital signatures or apply certificate-based signing, and signature fields are left as they are.

Are password-protected forms supported?

No. Encrypted and password-protected PDFs are not supported — remove the password first.
