Flip text so it reads backwards

Reversed text is useful for puzzles and games, checking palindromes, creating playful social posts, and testing how software handles unusual input. Paste or type text and every character is reversed instantly, from the last to the first. Characters are treated the way you see them, so emoji with skin tones, flags, and accented letters are not broken apart.

How to reverse text

1. Type or paste your text, or choose Upload Document to open a .txt, .md, .docx, or .pdf file.
2. The result appears immediately below, with counts of what changed.
3. Choose Copy Result to use it elsewhere, or Replace Input with Result to keep working here — Undo Replace brings the original back.

What reversing does

• Every character is reversed: letters, numbers, spaces, punctuation, and line breaks.
• Because line breaks are reversed too, the lines also end up in the opposite order.
• Each visible character — including emoji built from several parts and letters with combining accents — is moved as one unit.
• Reversing the result again gives back your original text.

Reverse Text reverses characters. Flipping only the order of lines while keeping each line readable is a different job — that is the separate Reverse Line Order tool, which is coming soon.

Your text stays on your device

• Text is processed by JavaScript running in your browser.
• Your text is never uploaded to Looty Tools or any other server.
• Uploaded documents are opened and read in your browser; the file itself is never sent to Looty Tools.
• Nothing is stored — refreshing or closing the page clears both boxes.

Limitations

• Uploads accept .txt and .md files up to 5 MB, Word .docx files up to 15 MB, and PDFs up to 25 MB and 50 pages. Older .doc files are not supported, and scanned or image-only PDFs have no text to use.
• Right-to-left scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew are reversed character by character, which may not be meaningful for readers of those languages.
• Text is reversed, not mirrored or turned upside down; the letters themselves are not flipped.
• Formatting such as bold or links is not kept, because the tool works with plain text.

What exactly gets reversed?

Every character in the text, from the last to the first — letters, spaces, punctuation, and line breaks. “Hello, world!” becomes “!dlrow ,olleH”.

Why are my lines in the opposite order too?

Line breaks are characters, so reversing the whole text also reverses the order of the lines. Reverse Line Order, a separate tool, will flip only the order of lines.

Do emoji and accented letters survive?

Yes. Each character you see is treated as one unit, so emoji with skin tones, family emoji, flags, and letters with accents are not broken apart.

Can I use it to check for palindromes?

Yes — if the reversed text matches the original, it reads the same backwards. For phrases, remove spaces and punctuation first, since those are reversed too.

Does reversing twice give back the original?

Yes. Reversing the result again returns your original text exactly.

Can I upload a Word document or PDF instead of pasting?

Yes. Upload Document accepts .txt, .md, Word .docx, and text-based .pdf files, or you can drop a file onto the text box. The file is read in your browser — it is not sent to Looty Tools — and its text replaces whatever is in the box. Scanned PDFs without a text layer and older .doc files are not supported.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Text is reversed in your browser and never sent to Looty Tools or saved.
