Fix capitalization without retyping

Text arrives in the wrong case all the time: a heading typed with Caps Lock on, a spreadsheet column in all capitals, a pasted title that needs proper capitalization, or a paragraph that should read as a normal sentence. Paste or upload the text, pick the case you want, and copy the result. Your original stays in its own box, so you can try several cases and compare them before using one.

How to change text case

1. Type or paste your text, or choose Upload Document to open a .txt, .md, .docx, or .pdf file.
2. Choose a case under “Convert to”. The converted text appears immediately in the box below.
3. Switch between cases to compare them — the result updates each time, and your original is never changed.
4. Copy Result to use it elsewhere, or Replace Input with Result to keep editing it here (Undo Replace brings the original back).

What each option does

• UPPERCASE and lowercase change every letter, including accented, Greek, and Cyrillic letters.
• Title Case follows common English title-case conventions: main words are capitalized, while short articles, conjunctions, and prepositions (a, the, and, of, to, in…) stay lowercase unless they come first or last. Each line is treated as its own title.
• Sentence case capitalizes the first word of each sentence and the word “I”, and lowercases the rest, using the same sentence rules as the Sentence Counter.
• Capitalize Each Word capitalizes every word, short words included.
• tOGGLE cASE swaps every letter from upper to lower case and back.

Spaces, punctuation, numbers, and line breaks are always kept exactly as they were. Acronyms and brand names that mix capitals, such as NASA or iPhone, are left as typed in Title Case, Sentence case, and Capitalize Each Word.

Your text stays on your device

• Text is converted by JavaScript running in your browser.
• Your text is never uploaded to Looty Tools or any other server.
• Uploaded documents are opened and read in your browser; the file itself is never sent to Looty Tools.
• Nothing is stored — refreshing or closing the page clears both boxes.

Limitations

• Uploads accept .txt and .md files up to 5 MB, Word .docx files up to 15 MB, and PDFs up to 25 MB and 50 pages. Older .doc files are not supported, and scanned or image-only PDFs have no text to convert. Formatting such as bold or italics is not kept.
• Sentence case cannot recognize names and places written in normal case, so “Paris” becomes “paris” — check proper nouns after converting.
• Title Case uses one general rule. AP, APA, Chicago, and MLA disagree on some words, so check your style guide for formal or published work.
• A line or sentence typed entirely in capitals is treated as ordinary words, so acronyms inside it are not kept. Names such as “O’Brien” lose the capital after the apostrophe in Title Case.
• Casing uses general Unicode rules; language-specific rules such as Turkish dotted and dotless i are not applied.

What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalize Each Word?

Capitalize Each Word capitalizes every word. Title Case follows common English title conventions and keeps short words such as “a”, “the”, “and”, “of”, and “to” lowercase unless they are the first or last word.

Which style guide does Title Case follow?

None exactly. It uses a common general convention: articles, coordinating conjunctions, and prepositions of three letters or fewer stay lowercase. AP, APA, Chicago, and MLA each differ in the details, so check your style guide for formal work.

Why did a name become lowercase in Sentence case?

Sentence case lowercases everything except the first word of each sentence and the pronoun “I”, and it cannot tell which ordinary-looking words are names or places. Acronyms such as NASA and brand names such as iPhone are kept, but review proper nouns after converting.

Does converting change my original text?

No. The result appears in a separate box and your original stays as you typed it. It is only replaced if you choose Replace Input with Result, and you can undo that.

Can I upload a Word document or PDF instead of pasting?

Yes. Upload Document accepts .txt, .md, Word .docx, and text-based .pdf files, or you can drop a file onto the text box. The file is read in your browser — it is not sent to Looty Tools — and its text replaces whatever is in the box. Scanned PDFs without a text layer and older .doc files are not supported.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Case conversion happens in your browser and your text never leaves your device or gets saved. Refreshing the page clears it.
