Put the last line first

Many lists are written in one order and needed in the other: a log that adds new entries at the bottom, a changelog you want newest-first, steps you need to undo in reverse, or a ranking read from the bottom up. Paste the lines and they come back in the opposite order, with each line left exactly as it was — nothing is sorted, merged, or rewritten.

How to reverse the order of lines

1. Type or paste your lines, or choose Upload Document to open a .txt, .md, .docx, or .pdf file.
2. The reversed lines appear immediately below, with a count of the lines.
3. Choose Copy Result to use it elsewhere, or Replace Input with Result to keep working here — Undo Replace brings the original back.

What changes and what stays the same

• The first line becomes the last and the last becomes the first; everything in between is mirrored.
• The text inside each line is never changed — letters, spaces, and punctuation stay in place.
• Blank lines count as lines and move to their mirrored position.
• A line break at the very end of your text stays at the end.

To make each line read backwards as well, use Reverse Text instead; to put lines in alphabetical order rather than simply flipping them, use Sort Lines Alphabetically.

Your text stays on your device

• Lines are reversed by JavaScript running in your browser.
• Your text is never uploaded to Looty Tools or any other server.
• Uploaded documents are opened and read in your browser; the file itself is never sent to Looty Tools.
• Nothing is stored — refreshing or closing the page clears both boxes.

Limitations

• Uploads accept .txt and .md files up to 5 MB, Word .docx files up to 15 MB, and PDFs up to 25 MB and 50 pages. Older .doc files are not supported, and scanned or image-only PDFs have no text to use.
• A line is whatever ends with a line break. A long paragraph that only wraps on screen is one line, so it is not split up.
• If your text mixes Windows and Mac/Linux line breaks, the result uses one style throughout — Windows breaks if any were present.
• Formatting such as bold, bullets, or table cells is not kept, because the tool works with plain text.

Reverse Line Order FAQ

How is this different from Reverse Text?

Reverse Text flips every character, so each line reads backwards. Reverse Line Order keeps every line readable and only changes which line comes first: “one, two, three” on separate lines becomes “three, two, one”.

Is reversing the same as sorting Z to A?

No. Sorting compares the lines and orders them alphabetically. Reversing never compares anything — it keeps your original sequence and simply reads it from the bottom up.

What happens to blank lines?

Blank lines are lines too, so they move to the mirrored position. A line break at the very end of the text stays at the end rather than becoming an empty first line.

Does reversing twice give back the original?

Yes. Reversing the result again restores the original order. The only change is that text mixing Windows and Mac/Linux line breaks comes back with one consistent style.

Can I reverse rows from a CSV file?

Yes — each row is a line, so the rows are reversed. The header row moves to the bottom too, so move it back to the top afterwards if you need it.

Can I upload a Word document or PDF instead of pasting?

Yes. Upload Document accepts .txt, .md, Word .docx, and text-based .pdf files, or you can drop a file onto the text box. The file is read in your browser — it is not sent to Looty Tools — and its text replaces whatever is in the box. Scanned PDFs without a text layer and older .doc files are not supported.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Lines are reversed in your browser and never sent to Looty Tools or saved.
