Transparency and output quality
BMP output here is 24-bit RGB with no alpha channel at all, so any transparent pixels are flattened onto a white background — the same convention this tool uses for JPG output. BMP stores raw, uncompressed pixel data, so converting a HEIC photo — already compressed efficiently with Apple's HEVC coding — into BMP typically produces a noticeably larger file, not a smaller one.

Limits and known issues
- Input: HEIC/HEIF (.heic, .heif) only, up to 25.0 MB and 8,192 px per side.
- BMP has no transparency support in this tool — if you need to keep alpha from a HEIC image, pick TIFF, ICO, or QOI instead.
- A multi-image HEIC — a burst or Live Photo — produces one BMP per captured frame, delivered as a ZIP when there's more than one; nothing is silently discarded.
- Metadata is not preserved in the downloaded file.
