How to Convert JPG to Any Format in Your Browser
JPG to Any lets you upload a JPG, JPEG, or JFIF file and choose from 12 output formats — PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, GIF, ICO, PDF, SVG, TGA, QOI, or PPM. This guide shows how the output selector works and what changes between formats.

What "Any" means here
JPG to Any offers a choice of 12 common, reliable output formats, grouped into Common (PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, GIF) and Specialized (ICO, PDF, SVG, TGA, QOI, PPM) — not every image format in existence. JPG output is not offered because re-saving a JPG as a JPG would not change anything.
Step-by-step conversion
Switching the output format resets quality and any format-specific controls to that format’s own default, and clears any previous conversion result.
- Open /tools/jpg-to-any.
- Choose a JPG, JPEG, or JFIF (.jfif, .jfi, .jif) file — the content is validated as real JPEG-family data before conversion.
- Pick an output format from the grouped dropdown.
- Adjust the settings shown for that format: quality, icon size, alpha channel, or PDF page layout, whichever apply (PNG, BMP, GIF, and PPM are lossless or fixed-quality and have no quality slider).
- Select Convert & download.
Transparency
JPG has no alpha channel, so none of the 12 output formats gain transparency that was not already there. PNG to Any and any-to-X tools that start from a source with real transparency are the ones that can preserve it.
The specialized formats
GIF output is always a single static image — never animated — limited to 256 colors chosen automatically from the source. SVG embeds the JPG pixels inside an SVG container; it does not vectorize the image, so enlarging it adds no new detail. TIFF and PPM are uncompressed, so their files can be noticeably larger than the source JPG. ICO defaults to a multi-size package (16 through 256 px) or a single size you choose. PDF places the image on one page with configurable page size, orientation, fit, and margins.

Convert JPG to Any Format FAQ
- Why isn’t JPG offered as an output?
- Re-saving a JPG as a JPG would be a no-op. Use the dedicated JPG to PNG, JPG to WebP, or JPG to AVIF tools if you always want the same fixed pair.
- Does this accept JFIF files?
- Yes. JFIF is a JPEG-based format, so .jfif, .jfi, and .jif files are accepted alongside .jpg and .jpeg.
- Is there a quality slider for every output?
- Only for WebP and AVIF. PNG, BMP, TIFF, GIF, ICO, PDF, SVG, TGA, QOI, and PPM are all lossless or fixed-quality by nature, so there is nothing to adjust for those.
- Can I generate a multi-size ICO?
- Yes. ICO output defaults to a multi-size package covering 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, and 256 px, or you can pick a single size from the dropdown.
- Does SVG output vectorize the image?
- No. SVG output embeds the JPG pixels inside an SVG container for scalable-layout embedding — it does not trace or vectorize the picture.
- Can every browser create AVIF?
- No. Canvas AVIF encoding is Chromium-first today. Unsupported browsers get a clear error instead of a mislabeled download.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs locally in your browser and does not upload your file to Looty Tools servers.
